Andrew “I Don’t Like Mens No More” Caldwell just can’t seem to catch a break.
Earlier this year, he claimed he was attacked in a mall parking lot by a gang of homophobic thugs. Now, the 22-year-old ex-gay says an employee at a frozen yogurt stand flung a bowl of yogurt in his face during a heated confrontation/potential hate crime.
Security footage captured Stephanie Diaz, a cashier at the FroYo Frozen Yogurt shop in University City, Missouri hurling a cup of frozen yogurt at Andrew Caldwell after he threw money at her.
“The bowl hit me all on my face, on my clothes, on my shoes! Everywhere!” Caldwell told his local news station. “My head!”
Caldwell believes Diaz targeted him because of his sexuality, recognizing him from his 2014 viral video in which, standing before hundreds of fellow churchgoers, he proclaimed that he had been “delivered” from his homosexuality. “I don’t like mens no more!” he cried. “I said: I like women! Women, women, women, women! Uuuurrrggggbbbbbhhhh. I said: WOMEN! I’m not gay!” (He later recanted these proclamations.)
But Diaz tells a different story. She claims she had no idea who Caldwell was when he came into the store and that his sexuality had absolutely nothing to do with her response because, she says, “I am gay. Anyone who works here knows I’m gay.”
According to her, Caldwell demanded a discount. When she said no, he became enraged and threw his money across the counter.
“He showed me his driver’s license, and he was like, ‘I need a fucking discount, you bitch’,” Diaz said.
Diaz said she felt “offended,” which is why she flung the yogurt at him. She has been charged with one count of third-degree assault. Her manager says no decision has been made on whether or not she will be fired.
Here’s hoping these two can work out their differences.
