What city was just named the most welcoming in the world?

More than 125,000 GayCities readers votes have been tallied in the 10th-anniversary edition of Best of Gay Cities2018 travel awards, and the winners are now in.

This year San Francisco dominated, taking home honors for “Most Welcoming City,” “Sustainable Dining,” and “Most Loved Bar” (440 Castro) and “Rainbow Crosswalk.”

Other notable winners include Max Emerson for “Insta-Traveler” and Miami’s TP Lords for “Local Queen.”

GayCities also announced special awards for “Destination of the Year” and “Innovator of the Year.” These honors went to Puerto Rico for its determination and resiliency in the wake of the catastrophic hurricane and to Fred Dixon, President and CEO, NYC & Company.
