During a scene in the new comedy, Hemsworth strips down to a pair of boxer briefs stuffed with a ginormous, left-leaning fake dong. The 31-year-old actor admitted he was initially “intimidated” by the scene.
“It was embarrassing,”Hemsworth said at last night’s premiere in L.A. “It was hilarious and probably more for other people than me… I was intimidated by that set and scene.”
To help set him at ease, co-directors and writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein offered Hemsworth the opportunity to select the exact size of his faux manhood.
“We went to a room with him and he modeled a couple of options for us,” Goldstein said.
“It was the weirdest couple of hours,” Daley said.
Naturally, he chose the very biggest one.
Ed Helms said he wasn’t the least bit surprised by the oversized prosthetic, telling E!: “I knew exactly how big it would be because it was molded off of me.”
And as for where the prop should go now, Christina Applegate had a great suggestion: “The Smithsonian.”
